On March 5, 2024 Alabama will hold it's primary election for both the Republican and Democratic parties to choose who will represent them in the general election in November. Also on that ballot will be a Referendum Election on the right side at the bottom. This referendum is for Blount County only and will be on all ballots offered at all polling stations. This Referendum is not a tax but rather an increase in court cost that will be to provide a hazardous duty pay for deputies and corrections officers. All APOST officers, minus the Sheriff, will be eligible as well as all corrections officers that work in the jail. Again this is not any sort of tax at all, it is solely a court cost increase. Please prayerfully and thoughtfully consider how you might vote in this referendum election.
