Blount County Sheriff's Office Arrests Remlap Man on Multiple Child Exploitation Charges

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
Blount County, AL - The Blount County Sheriff's Office has arrested Michael Andrew Dewoody, 41, of the Remlap area, on multiple charges related to the sexual exploitation of a minor.
Dewoody has been charged with the following offenses:

Facilitating Travel for Child Sex
-
Traveling to Meet a Child for Sex
-
Electronic Solicitation of a Child
-
Transmitting Obscene Material to a Child
-
Sexual Abuse, 2nd Degree
According to investigators, Dewoody is accused of engaging in sexual acts with a child under the age of 17.
Investigators are asking anyone who may have had inappropriate contact with Dewoody, or who may have information relevant to this investigation, to come forward.
The Blount County Sheriff's Office takes crimes involving the exploitation of children extremely seriously. Investigators believe there may be additional victims or individuals with information who have not yet spoken with law enforcement.
